Mass Union’s Policy Agenda

In 2025 – 2026, Mass Union will focus on the following policy priorities.

      1. Secure $350,000 in funding for Technical Assistance (TA) for tenants facing redevelopment with private partners
      2. Protect immigrants living in public housing
      3. Fight against harmful regulatory proposals
      4. Participate in the Access to Counsel coalition and push for the coalition’s goals
      5. With partners, advocate for a 15% increase in the Massachusetts Public Housing Operating Subsidy
      6. With partners, make a plan to address the $8 billion backlog of capital needs in public housing
      7. With partners, advocate for more Resident Services Coordinators (RSCs) in public housing
      8. Protect tenant privacy in rent calculations by clarifying the way bank statements are used
      9. Educate ourselves about the best ways to create safe public housing communities
