Massachusetts Union of Public Housing Tenants 2019 Spring Convention

The Massachusetts Union of Public Housing Tenants Policy Board and Staff would like to announce its 2019 Spring Convention will take place on April 12 – 14, at the Four Point Hotel, 1125 Providence Turnpike, Norwood MA 02360.

Convention Theme: Resident Collaboration with Housing Management.

Now is the time to start planning for the Spring Convention. Schedule your request for funding at your Local Resident Council, Local Housing Authority (LHA), or plan a Fundraising event to help cover the cost of the convention.

Registration forms hotel overnight accommodations are due by March 15, 2019 Day only Registration deadline is April 3rd.

The registration cost includes continental breakfast, lunch with afternoon coffee, awards banquet, Sunday lunch and training materials. Parking is free.

The Mass Union Policy Board will be hosting its annual election. The Policy Board is looking for affiliate members to serve on the Mass Union Policy Board. Executive Board Elections will be conducted on Sunday morning. Policy Board eligibility requires that a public housing tenant be a member of an affiliate providing no such member is in a decision-making position (senior management) at a local housing authority.

State and Federal policy makers and Representatives will be in attendance along with Citizen Housing and Planning Association, Massachusetts NAHRO, and the National Alliance of Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing.

Mass Union Policy Board is looking for candidates to receive the J. Lincoln Durand / Thelma Rodgers Award. These awards are given to citizens who were formerly public housing tenants and are making a difference in their community. If you know of a person you wish to recommend for this award please forward their name and resume to our Office by March 23, 2019.
