Antanke lokatè, mwen te temwen dirèkteman laperèz kèk moun santi lè y ap eksprime enkyetid yo. Mwen pasyone pou m sèvi nan konsèy lokatè a pou m bay kominote nou an pouvwa lè m asire tout moun okouran de dwa fondamantal yo pou yon espas k ap viv ki an sekirite, abòdab, pwòp, epi ki fonksyone byen. Mwen angaje tou pou m ankouraje pi bon kominikasyon ak jesyon an.

As a tenant, I’ve witnessed firsthand the fear some feel in voicing their concerns. I am passionate about serving on the tenant board to empower our community by ensuring everyone is aware of their fundamental rights to a safe, affordable, clean, and operational living space. I am also committed to fostering better communication with management. I’ve experienced the frustration of inconsistent office hours, unanswered calls, and the need to take time out of my day for issues that could be resolved remotely. Furthermore, the lack of accountability for unaddressed work orders is unacceptable. As a responsible tenant who pays rent on time, I believe it’s crucial to have a board member dedicated to ensuring management upholds their responsibilities as well. Every tenant deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and I am determined to advocate for that.

My goal is to have a community where our kids can enjoy the summer air without any worries.

In addition to improving quality of life and satisfaction, building a positive environment for families, free of harassment and discrimination regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, fighting for equity; safety, cleanliness, and maintenance are fundamental pillars for a better life… therefore I need your support.

The Mass Union of Public Housing Tenants respectfully requests our Senators’ support for the following so that we, tenants in public housing, may live with the dignity we deserve.
ASK: $153 million
Cosponsor and support any amendment that increases this line item. Tenants in state-aided public housing live with mold, rats, bedbugs, broken elevators, sewage problems and more. Massachusetts can and MUST do better. We don’t deserve to live this way. Your help is crucial.
ASK: $5 million
Cosponsor and support any amendment that increases this line item. Public housing tenants facing eviction need your support. Sometimes, we face eviction because our rent was miscalculated, or we are trying to improve the conditions in our community. Your support for Access to Counsel will provide full representation for those of us who need it most.
ASK: $350,000
Mass Union is very grateful that the Affordable Homes Act provides protections for tenants undergoing redevelopment with private partners, including requiring that tenants be provided with Technical Assistance to help us navigate complicated deals. These protections are crucial. We are working to find funding sources for Technical Assistance for tenants so we may provide meaningful input into this process. Please stay tuned.
