With help from Mass Union and affiliates we were able to change the way public housing is managed. New state regulations including a new rent regulation are being drafted requiring residents to partner with management. Every housing authority in Massachusetts is mandated to have a resident seat on the board of commissioners chosen by the residents. DHCD encourage resident officers to participate in modernization planning. The federal and state public housing residents need to understand their decision making role in the annual planning process. The Bullying Commission is looking for support from Mass Unions’ Affiliates. Congresswoman Katherine Clark has been invited to speak to the Convention.

Now is the time to come together and discover how you can voice your concerns and protect your homes. We need every affiliate to participate in advocating for increasing the funding the state and federal public housing programs.
